Hammad batting all-rounder who plays domestic cricket for Lahore Blues, and represents Ghani Glass in First Class. A right-handed top-order batter who also bowls leg spin, he has come through one of the most competitive cricket cities in the world, Lahore, and earned his place in Pakistan's top domestic teams.
Hammad is an elegant batter and a dependable run-scorer whose greatest strength is building an innings. He is calm at the crease, reads game situations well and knows his own game inside out, which allows him to set the tempo of an innings while others bat around him. With already eight First-Class half-centuries to his name, in just sixteen matches, it is evident that he is a consistent run-scorer. When the situation calls for it he can change gear and take the attack to the bowlers, and that combination of control and intent makes him a consistent scorer from match to match, exactly what a club needs from its overseas professional.
He showed both sides of his game at First-Class level. On his Quaid-e-Azam Trophy debut for Lahore Blues against Multan in October 2023 he made a composed half-century, the kind of innings that sets a platform for the rest of the order. A year later, against Quetta in November 2024, he showed the other gear, hammering an unbeaten 38 from just 19 balls with four fours and two sixes to see Lahore Blues home by eight wickets. He has also batted at number three for Lahore Blues in the National T20 Cup, featuring in the 2025 campaign that ended with Lahore Blues lifting the title.
With the ball, Hammad bowls leg spin with a googly in his armoury. Bowling opportunities have been limited in a strong Lahore side, but he is now being trusted with more overs because he can tie down an end and pick up important wickets when they are needed. In English club cricket, where a quality wrist spinner is a genuine point of difference, that gives a team a valuable extra option and a second skill from a single overseas signing.
Hammad is a top all-round cricketer who brings great experience, a mature understanding of the game and a level-headed temperament to any dressing room. For a club looking for a reliable, consistent run-scorer at the top of the order who can also be used as a genuine bowling option, he is an outstanding signing.
