Hlompho is a talented bowling all-rounder capable of contributing well with both bat and ball. Given his ability with bat and ball from a young age, he showed exceptional potential growing up having represented North West province at the CSA weeks from u13 to u17 and finally at the prestigious Khaya Majola Week which features the top young talent from around South Africa. All before making his professional debut for North West in 2018.
With the ball in hand, he is a great option to take the new ball but can be seen to perform well bowling first change. Hlompho bowls with good pace, he has no problem getting the ball through when he wants to rush the opposing batsmen. He is a work horse, having the stamina to bowl long spells whilst still keeping his pace up and being able to control the ball to land in his desired areas. His ability to move the ball both ways effortlessly, coupled with his pace and variations makes him a threatening bowler.
Along with being a talented bowler, Hlompho proves his worth with the bat too. In recent years he has worked hard on his batting which has paid off having scored his maiden First-Class half-century in the first game of the season. Able to bat for long periods and boasting a solid technique compared to other batsmen lower down the order, Hlompho is more than capable of being relied upon to steady the ship and provide useful runs lower down the order.
Hlompho has represented a bunch of notable teams namely, North West, South Western Districts, and The Dolphins. Whilst opportunities were scarce, his talent was evident as he was selected to represent South Africa Invitational XI to face West Indies. In the match he picked up 4 wickets, claiming the wickets of Jermaine Blackwood, Alzarri Joseph, Roston Chase and Raymon Reifer.
This year Hlompho made his move to Limpopo where is has really come into his own, scoring a half-century on debut, bowling a lot more and doing especially well with the ball in T20's.
Hlompho is now wanting to showcase his talent in the UK for what will be his maiden season. He is currently in good form with both bat and ball and would be a great signing for any club looking for a threatening seam bowler that can also contribute with the bat.
