Kayla is fast becoming the next best thing in women's cricket in South Africa. An all-round excellent player with bat and ball, her talent was identified at a young age making her professional debut at just 15 years old for Western Province. Just a year later she made her South Africa u19 debut. Since then, she had been a frequent member of the South Africa u19 team which saw her play in two u19 Women's World Cup and having recently captained the u19 team during the 2025 World Cup where she helped lead her side to the final against India.
Kayla is a confident, hard-hitting batter. She can often be seen batting in the top and middle order. She enjoys taking the attack to the opposition bowlers from the start, whether it's spin or pace. She has a well-developed game and approach which allows her to score freely to all parts of the ground.
With the ball in hand, she bowls her off spinners with excellent control and consistency. She can often be seen tying down an end to restrict the follow of runs whilst making crucial breakthroughs. This is evident as she won Bowler of the Year for Western Province Women's.
Kayla is an immense talent whose on field skills and ability are mature beyond her years. She will no doubt have a long and successful career in international cricket.
