KV is a seam-bowling all-rounder who has spent more than a decade at the heart of the Andhra side in all formats. Since making his professional debut in 2015, he has played almost 150 professional matches and taken over 250 wickets, including 161 First-Class wickets at 23.74 with nine five-wicket hauls and a ten-wicket haul. Add a first-class top score of 99 not out and almost 2000 runs across all formats, and he is exactly the kind of overseas professional who can win games with either skill.
With the ball, Sasikanth is the sort of bowler captains love to throw the ball to. He is relentlessly accurate, hitting a good areas over after over, and he moves the ball both ways. That combination means batters can never settle against him. He builds pressure with dot balls, sets batters up and then takes the wicket, and when conditions offer anything at all, he is a genuine new-ball threat. Those are skills made for English club cricket.
His record at the top level of Indian domestic cricket tells the story. In the 2018/19 Ranji Trophy he was Andhra's joint leading wicket-taker, claiming 17 wickets in just four matches, and that season he produced the most destructive spell of his career, taking 6 for 18 as Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for just 35 in a 307-run Andhra victory. The following season he ripped through Delhi with a five-wicket haul at Ongole to set up a nine-wicket win. When the pressure was at its highest, in the 2024 Ranji Trophy quarter-final against Madhya Pradesh in Indore, he took the new ball and finished the opening day with 4 for 37.
He is far more than a bowler who can hold a bat. Sasikanth is a dependable middle-order batter with four First-Class half centuries and a highest score of 99 not out. He is capable of digging in and rebuilding when early wickets have fallen, rotating the strike to keep the scoreboard moving, and taking the attack to the bowlers when the game needs pushing on.
Over ten seasons of professional cricket, Sasikanth has shared dressing rooms with international players and bowled at some of the best batters in India in one of the toughest domestic systems in world cricket. He brings that experience and cricket knowledge with him, along with a professional approach to preparation and training that younger players can learn a great deal from.
Consistent, skilful and battle-hardened, KV is a proven wicket-taker who contributes with both bat and ball. Any club looking for an overseas professional to lead their attack and strengthen their middle order would be hard pressed to find a better fit.
