Leniko Boucher is a Barbados wicketkeeper-batter who brings high-class glovework, top-order runs and a genuine bowling option to any club. A regular for Barbados in the Caribbean's domestic competitions, a Caribbean Premier League title winner, and four years proving himself in Melbourne grade cricket. For a club looking for one overseas professional to cover the gloves, the top order and overs with the ball, Leniko ticks every box.
With the bat he is confident, positive and unafraid to take the attack to the bowlers, but what sets him apart is the composure that sits alongside that aggression. He reads the game well and adjusts to what the situation demands. Barbados have turned to him on a number of occasions when the innings has been in trouble, and time and again he has steadied the ship, absorbed the pressure and built the partnerships that have put his side back in a good position. Behind the stumps he is an excellent keeper and he brings the sharpness and reliability that lifts a whole fielding unit.
His record at the top level of Caribbean cricket speaks for itself. Since making his List A debut for Barbados against the Leeward Islands in 2018, he has scored 763 runs in 27 matches at 31.79 with a strike rate of over 80, taking 21 catches and 3 stumpings along the way. His unbeaten 68 against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the 2019 Super50 Cup saw Barbados home by nine wickets, and in November 2025 he made a rapid half-century in the CG United Super50 Cup final, sharing an opening stand of 122 with West Indies international Kyle Mayers as Barbados Pride crushed Trinidad and Tobago Red Force by nine wickets to lift the title. He has also represented Barbados in first-class cricket, and his pedigree stretches back to selection for a West Indies Select XI in 2016.
On the franchise stage he has been part of three Caribbean Premier League squads, with Barbados Tridents, St Lucia Zouks and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, and he was a member of the Tridents side that won the CPL title in 2019. Sharing dressing rooms with some of the best T20 cricketers in the world has given him a professional standard that he carries into every team he joins.
That standard has shone through in Australia. Across four seasons with Grand United, Aberfeldie, Sunshine United and now Deer Park in Melbourne, Leniko has adapted to new conditions, new teammates and new competitions and kept on scoring. An average of more than 45 shows a batter who turns starts into match-shaping scores, and his 26 wickets at 21.46 show that he is far more than a part-time option with the ball. Captains have been able to throw him the ball and trust him to deliver.
Leniko is a high-quality cricketer with the experience of domestic titles, franchise cricket and overseas club seasons behind him. A player who can win games with the bat and chip in with the ball, he offers a club three skills for the price of one overseas signing, and he is ready to make an immediate impact in English club cricket.
