About

Mubasir Khan

Mubasir is a batting all-rounder and off-spinner, and one of the most decorated young cricketers in Pakistan's domestic game. Still only 24, he has already played more close to 200 professional matches across all three formats, scoring just shy of 5000 runs and 200 wicket, with 8 centuries and 21 half-centuries. He is a full Pakistan international, having won his T20I cap in 2023, and he is the rare player who genuinely earns his place twice over: a top-six batter who can bat for a day and a spinner who wins matches with the ball.

His arrival at first-class level could not have been more successful . On debut for Northern in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 2020, aged just 18, he walked out with his side still 185 runs behind on first innings and four wickets down, and made 164 off 241 balls. Within a year he had added a second hundred, with 112 against in only his fourth first-class match.

What followed marked him out as something special. In 2021/22 he was named Player of the Tournament in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy after scoring 458 runs and taking 30 wickets at just 18.46. He then did it again the following season, scoring 522 runs and taking 31 wickets as Northern won their first ever Quaid-e-Azam Trophy title, making him Player of the Tournament two years running before his 21st birthday.

In the President's Trophy he made 100 off 121 balls against PTV in 2025 and an unbeaten 113 against Ghani Glass in 2026. He is just as dangerous in one-day cricket, with three List A centuries including an unbeaten 118 for Northern in the Pakistan Cup, and a strike rate above 90. Most strikingly, in the one-day President's Cup in December 2025 he bowled seven overs for just six runs and five wickets, including a hat-trick, as KRL were skittled for 40 and SNGPL won by 100 runs, earning him the player of the match award.

That domestic record earned him the step up. He was shortlisted for Emerging Cricketer of the Year at the PCB Awards, played in the Pakistan Super League for Islamabad United and Rawalpindiz, and was called into the Pakistan side for the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, where he made his T20I debut against Bangladesh.

He also knows English club cricket. He first came over in 2022 as a late-season signing for Seaham Park CC, returned in 2024 to play for Hull Zingari CC in a spell cut short when he was called back to Pakistan for national duty, and in 2026 he signed for Saltburn CC, where he had modest returns scoring 558 runs and took 28 wickets.

For a club, Mubasir offers a complete package: a technically sound batter with the patience to build long innings and the power to accelerate, and an accurate off-spinner who has proven he can bowl sides out. A young, ambitious international cricketer with experience of English conditions who has been the best player in Pakistan's top domestic competition two seasons in a row, he is the kind of signing who can carry a side with bat and ball and change a club's season.
