Oliver is a genuine new-ball, top of the order all-rounder who is performing in senior Premier cricket right now. A right-handed opening batsman and a left-arm medium-fast bowler, he gives a side the two things every captain values most: a dependable platform at the top of the innings and a wicket-taking option with the new ball. He currently plays for Barwell CC in the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket League.
With the bat, Oliver opens and does the job properly, there to take the shine off the new ball, weather the tough early overs and build a platform for those behind him. It is working: in the current 2026 season he has already passed fifty four times, with scores of 84, 83, 82 and 53, and sits as the highest run scorer at the club and the second highest for the 1st XI at Barwell CC and the club's current MVP just seven weeks in. That follows a 2025 campaign of three fifties and a top score of 85 as a first-team regular at 17. He became the youngest centurion in Barwell's history at just 15 - a marker of a player who has been ahead of the curve at every stage.
With the ball, Oliver is a left-arm medium-fast bowler with a genuinely varied armoury (off-cutter, leg-cutter, yorker, bouncer, wide yorker) and the ability to switch round the wicket. He is no part-timer: he took 28 wickets in the 2025 season and is currently the leading wicket-taker at the club. A left-arm seamer who opens both the batting and the bowling is a rare, high-value package for any side.
Oliver's pedigree backs up the output. He has trialled with Leicestershire CCC on multiple occasions (top-scoring in a practice game) and toured with the county to Somerset. He has won back-to-back promotions with Barwell's second team and progressed steadily through the club's ranks since joining at 12, playing senior cricket from the age of 13.
A reliable fielder with safe hands and sharp reactions, Oliver also gives back at his club, helping out with junior coaching on Friday nights and supporting Under-15 and Under-17 training and matches. He brings a steady, dependable temperament to everything he does on the field.
Young, in-form and improving fast, Oliver is a genuine all-rounder with current senior runs and wickets to his name, a balanced, two-way cricketer who genuinely strengthens a side at the top of both disciplines.
