Shahid is a fast, aggressive opening bowler and hard-hitting middle to lower-order batter who plays for State Bank of Pakistan. Still only 23, he has already played in the Pakistan Super League for Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans and won a continental title with Pakistan Shaheens. In just 24 First-Class matches he has taken 5 five-wicket hauls and 2 ten-wicket hauls, a return that most seamers would be proud of across an entire career.
What makes Shahid so dangerous is his ability to swing the ball at pace. He runs in hard, attacks the stumps and moves the new ball late, which means batters can never settle and edges, LBW and bowled dismissals come in clusters. He is a genuine strike bowler, the type of player that takes early wickets and who the captain can rely on when his team needs a wicket.
His best performance so far shows exactly what he can do. Playing for FATA against Karachi Blues in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 2025, he took 5/45 in the first innings and then ripped through them again with 5/33 in the second, finishing with match figures of 10/78 as FATA won by 184 runs. Since moving to State Bank of Pakistan he has kept the wickets coming, and he is currently among the top ten wicket-takers in this season's Presidents Trophy.
His talent has been recognised at the highest levels of Pakistan cricket. He was part of the Pakistan Shaheens squad that went unbeaten through the group stage and won the 2025 Asia Cup Rising Stars, playing in the final in which they beat Bangladesh A. In the PSL he has shared a dressing room with international stars and proved he belongs on the big stage. Bowling for Multan Sultans in 2025 he cleaned up Babar Azam, and against Quetta Gladiators that season he took 3/29, the best of the match. Karachi Kings then signed him for the 2026 PSL.
Shahid is far more than just a bowler. With the bat he plays the same way he bowls, taking the attack to the opposition and clearing the ropes with ease. He has three First-Class half-centuries to his name. In club cricket that kind of hitting from the lower order turns matches around.
For a club, Shahid offers the complete package for an overseas professional. A young, hungry fast bowler who swings the new ball, takes wickets in bunches and can win a game with the bat in a handful of overs. He has been chosen by two PSL franchises and his country's A, and the best of his career is still in front of him. Any club that signs him gets a match-winner.
